The purpose of the course is to help prevent an attack on a high-value principal by preparing participants to recognize pre-attack planning and preparation. In understanding how terrorists, organize crime/cartels and state actors plan such attacks, security personnel are better able to analyze existing security measures and formulate better strategies for threat mitigation.
Participants will learn by doing. Participants will take on the role of terrorists or other "bad actors" preparing to attack a principal protected by a security detail as they go about their daily movements. Under the direction of an instructor “cell leader.” will conduct all necessary pre-attack surveillance to refine an attack plan. In doing so, students will operate using exactly the same tradecraft used by known international and domestic terrorist groups, organized crime, cartels, and state actors. They will learn to conduct surveillance, detect surveillance, and counter-surveillance precisely the way our top tier adversaries do today.
